What this page covers

“Cookies” are small pieces of data that a website can ask your browser to store and send back on later visits. This is different from your browser's local storage, which Filet Crochet Chart Builder uses to save your chart and project data on your own device; local storage is never sent back to a server automatically. This page describes both, organised by the consent category that controls them.

Essential (always active)

Stored in your browser's local storage, not as cookies. Required for the app to function as a local-first tool and to remember your cookie choice. These are never used for analytics or advertising and cannot be turned off.

  • Your cookie consent choice
  • The chart you are currently editing and its restore points
  • Your named/saved projects, favorites, and recently viewed templates
  • Reading progress, custom fonts, and export/print preferences

Analytics (optional)

Loaded through Google Tag Manager only after you accept Analytics. Google Analytics (GA4) sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* on this domain to measure how the app is used. See Google's cookie policy for the technologies Google itself controls.

Marketing (optional)

Loaded through Google Tag Manager only after you accept Marketing. The Meta Pixel sets cookies such as _fbp to help measure and improve advertising, and Google advertising products may use related advertising cookies. See Meta's cookie policy for the technologies Meta itself controls.

We do not fix exact cookie lifetimes here because Google and Meta control and can change the retention of their own cookies; their own policies are the authoritative source for those details.

Cookieless performance monitoring

This site is hosted on Vercel, which runs Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. According to Vercel, these do not use cookies or persistent identifiers. They are not currently gated by the consent choices above; whether they should be is flagged for owner review in our internal records.

Change your choice

You can accept, reject, or change Analytics and Marketing at any time. Changing your choice immediately updates what Google Tag Manager is allowed to load and measure.
